Display & Video 360 API v5 enters public beta, moving Customer Match management to the Data Manager API
Google released version 5 of the Display & Video 360 API in public beta on October 22, 2026. v5 adds management of YouTube video and channel exclusion targeting at the advertiser level, support for Digital Out of Home insertion orders, changed retrieval and targeting of inventory source deals and auction packages, and refactored audience targeting for YouTube and Demand Gen ad groups. Customer Match audience management methods are removed in favour of the Data Manager API. v5 also adds lookalike audience methods, Peer39 verification settings and removes Adloox. In parallel, v4 gains businessName and logo fields for Video Performance Ads and SDF v10.1 support. Google provides a v4 to v5 migration guide.
Impact
Agencies and ad tech vendors with DV360 integrations will need development work to move to v5, particularly for Customer Match uploads, which must move to the Data Manager API, and for audience targeting on YouTube and Demand Gen ad groups. Teams using Adloox through the API must plan for its removal. Advertiser-level YouTube exclusions and DOOH insertion orders can simplify brand safety management and open new buying workflows via API.
Recommendations
- Review the v5 migration guide and inventory every DV360 API call your tools make that is affected
- Plan migration of Customer Match uploads to the Data Manager API
- If you use Adloox via the DV360 API, assess alternatives such as the newly supported Peer39 settings
- Use v4's new businessName and logo fields now to keep Video Performance Ads compliant with YouTube branding requirements
