Google Ads opens UAE targeting to licensed crypto exchanges, wallets, CFDs and rolling spot forex from October 21
Google updated its Cryptocurrencies and related products policy and its Complex speculative financial products policy for the United Arab Emirates. Beginning October 21, 2026, advertisers offering cryptocurrency exchanges, software wallets, contracts for difference (CFDs) or rolling spot forex may target the UAE if they meet the licensing requirements and are certified by Google. For crypto exchanges and wallets, accepted licensing authorities are the Capital Market Authority (CMA), Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) and Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). For complex speculative financial products, the listed authorities are the CMA, DFSA and FSRA. Advertisers must also comply with other local laws. Violations do not lead to immediate suspension; a warning is issued at least 7 days before any account suspension.
Impact
Licensed crypto and trading brands can now run Google Ads campaigns targeting the UAE, a market where these categories were previously restricted. Access depends on holding one of the listed UAE licences and on obtaining Google certification, so campaigns cannot launch until certification is approved. Unlicensed or uncertified advertisers remain unable to target the UAE.
Recommendations
- Check which UAE authority licenses each crypto or trading client and confirm it appears on Google's accepted list
- Apply for the relevant Google certification before planning UAE launch dates
- Keep geo-targeting excluding the UAE for clients that do not hold a qualifying licence
