Snapchat Ads API adds Unified Attribution eligibility, Target Cost checks and AI self-declaration for media
Snap's Ads API changelog entry dated October 6, 2026 lists four changes. The Campaign documentation gains a section on how to use the Unified Attribution logic. The Ad Squad eligibility endpoint now reveals whether a Snap App ID qualifies for the Unified Attribution logic. A new endpoint checks whether an Optimization Goal can be combined with the TARGET_COST bid strategy. A new PATCH endpoint for the Media entity lets developers add or remove the AI self-declaration.
Impact
App advertisers and tools using the Snap Ads API can check Unified Attribution eligibility and Target Cost compatibility programmatically instead of hitting errors at launch. The AI self-declaration endpoint lets teams label AI-generated media at scale through the API.
Recommendations
- Check app campaigns for Unified Attribution eligibility through the Ad Squad eligibility endpoint
- Add the TARGET_COST compatibility check to campaign-building tools before setting bid strategies
- Build AI self-declaration into creative upload workflows for AI-generated assets
